Father O'Riley's Prayer (2012)

I named “Father O’Riley’s Prayer” when I was in the middle of writing it, which is a bit unusual for me.  The opening piano figure reminded me of the synthesizer part in The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.”  It also seemed to me that the initial melody is reminiscent of a chant; its serenity seemed somewhat prayerful to me at the time.  This connection in particular influenced how I wrote the rest of the piece.
